About your host
Steve Snell is the founder of Historic Aviation, LLC and will be your guide for The Rise of Air Power, 1914-1945 tour. Steve worked in Silicon Valley for the last 25 years and is now pursuing his passion of sharing his knowledge of history and aviation with you. He holds a MA in Military History, with a concentration in WWII, a BS degree in Marketing, and a MBA.
My Story
I have been passionate about flying for as long as I can remember. My father was in the United States Air Force and introduced me to flying when I was just a small boy (I'm the one on the right). He took my brother and I flying in a rented 172 and I was hooked. I received my Private Pilot certificate in 2004 and instrument rating in 2010. I fly my 1974 Beechcraft Bonanza as often as I can.
I've been fortunate to travel extensively throughout Europe, the U.K. and the Pacific, studying WWII, including trips to Iwo Jima, Guam, Saipan, and Tinian. I have taken a number of historical tours over the last two decades and realized there was a lack of attention being given to airmen and the sacrifices they made so that we could be free. This tour is the result. I hope to see you soon and wish you blue skies and tailwinds!
